Greetings All,
It took my a while, but I finally finished my Solo/Co-op/Versus skirmish game of survivors trying to escape the Martian control zones to free human territory after Orson Welles' broadcast of War of the Worlds. This time it wasn't a radio play, it was real!

I used developing the game as an excuse to bust out my Alien Dungeon Tripod and Drone models. However, the game is model and scale agnostic. It can be played solo/Co-op/Versus and has a detailed campaign system. Survivor band creation is semi-random with each model getting random equipment and starting conditions based on how they survived the Martian attack. In addition, to start play each survivor band is exactly 4 models, but you will need some Martian foes for them to deal with. All resolution is using a d10.
The games focus is on horror and survival. This is done with a variety of mechanics, with core elements being resource management, rising threat levels, and threats that are difficult to solve for. Resources are a big part of the campaign system with mechanics for scavenging, losing hide-outs, expending weapons and equipment, and deprivation. Resources must be used wisely, hoarded, and guarded. During the game, failed rolls, fighting, and shooting all cause a rising Danger Level that will attract more Martian foes and make success on many tests more difficult. Therefore, you need to focus your survivors and race against the clock to complete your objectives before the Danger gets too high. Finally, most survivor's have very limited weapons and equipment. They are no match for Martian war machines in a straight up fight. Therefore, they will have to use firepower, brains, nerve, and brawn to bypass threats by using a RPG Lite "Action" system. Firepower alone will not be enough to deal with a threat.
Take a look and hopefully you like what you see. I am pretty proud of the work that went into this one. It only took 4 years to get it this far!
